Ney & Partners scores well in Belgian Timber Construction Awards 2020, Brussels (BE)
Ney & Partners WOW is specialised in timber construction and were the responsible engineers for 5 nominated projects and two winning projects in the Belgian Timber Awards 2020. Last week the prizes were officially presented. In the non-residential category, the Gare Maritime Brussels of Neutelings Riedijk won the first prize. Nowadays in cities, roofs of the existing constructions start to become ‘building surface’ and the use of timber is convenient as it is light and quickly built to make ‘additional floors’. In this elevation category, the project Sokal won the first prize. As for the nominations, Ney & Partners WOW was responsible for the structural design of two nominated multi-residential buildings in Brussels and Namur: Perle and Inquiétude. The timber footbridge Vivegnis, crossing the railways in Liège, was a collaboration of Ney & Partners WOW with Maximilien Cornet and Atelier D’Architecture Alain Richard, whom was nominated as well.
