Timber bicycle bridge over ‘Four Arms Crossing’ R0 Brussels awarded, Brussels (BE)

The R0 East ring road around Brussels forms an troublesome barrier for soft road users. The Flemish Community wants to reconnect the fragmented nature and residential areas and make them more accessible. The ‘Vierarmenkruispunt’ is one of those dangerous crossroads. The new timber bicycle bridge will allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross this spot safely in the future. It is the first timber bicycle bridge of this size in Flanders. The design was awarded in February 2022, works will start in 2022 and completion is scheduled for the end of 2023.
