Start works Krugerbrug, Antwerp (BE)
-
This week, the construction of the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge on the location of the old Kruger bridge has started. The new bridge makes the connection between two important cycle routes: the cycle route F13 towards Boom and the District route around Antwerp. The new bridge is also an important connection for the inhabitants of the adjacent residential areas to the nature reserve Hobokense Polder.
The design team Ney & Partners BXL and Omgeving was appointed in 2019 for the construction of two new bridges – one over the railway and one over the Zuidweg – each on a green approach slope. This creates green spaces around the bridges.
