Ney & Partners structural engineers for new ‘Lake Side’ city district, Brussels (BE)

On the Tour & Taxis site, the ‘Lake Side’ development is entering its final phase as the real estate developer and investor Nextensa applied for the permit. The project involves the development of approximately 140,000 sm with a largely residential programme, accounting for some 800 new homes. The plans fit in with the Special Zoning Plan Tour & Taxis (BBP), which was approved in 2017. Rotterdam-based architecture firm MVRDV translated this GDP into an urban masterplan that seamlessly blends into the site’s programming. The environmental design is in the hands of landscape architect Bas Smets. After a selection from 50 international design firms, the Belgian architects Binst Architects, POLO, HUB, Bureau Bouwtechniek and the Danish 3XN, Cobe, Effekt were selected. Ney & Partners is responsible for the structural engineering of the buildings.
