Installation of photovoltaic glass roof for new TEC bus station in Namur (BE)

The Namur station neighbourhood and its public transport infrastructure has been undergoing a thorough renovation and transformation for a few years now. The new traffic flow and public space started with the renovation of the Square Leopold and the construction of a ramp with a cable stayed bridge. This bridge leads to the new bus station, an almost completed building with glass facades of 4500m2. The large central hall of 80 by 48 m is made of a steel structure that carries the glass and aluminium facades, as well as the glass roof with solar panels of 4934 m2. The solar panels will generate 230000 Kwh per year. Ney & Partners is the architect and engineer of the various components of this sustainable multimodal transport infrastructure. Completion is foreseen before the end of the year.
