Brigandsbrug Ingelmunster laureate of BENELUX Steel Bridge Contest 2023 (BE)

With this new, biennial contest, Infosteel (B) and Bouwen met Staal (NL) aim to appreciate and highlight exemplary bridge projects in The Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In the road bridges category, our Brigandsbrug bridge project was chosen as the winner. We are particularly delighted with the comment of the jury: “Both the detailing, finishing and execution show very high (aesthetic) standards, making the bridge a true work of art. The jury further appreciated the ingenious mounting and construction concept to build the bridge so that the right thrust forces would be present on the arches bearings.” This project was a collaboration with O360 Architects and Bas Smets and realized by the contractors consortium Artes-Depret – Victor Buyck Steel Construction – Stadsbader.
