A series of new canopies nearly completed in Nagasaki station, Nagasaki (JP)

Ney & Partnes JPN conceived a series of new canopies in steel and timber  for the public squares of the new Nagasaki station. This station, the terminal of the high-speed railway network, is expected to be open to public in 2022.  To accomodate passengers two large squares on the east and the west side are foreseen. The form and the arrangement of the new canopies on the west side are carefully designed in consideration with the requirements of the public space, which will house mainly the passengers of local trains. On the east entrance, three other steel canopies as well as a 168 m long, 10 m wide timber canopy will be complete in 2022. Copyright photo: Takuma Matsunaga.
