17.036 | Canopies and public infrastructure West gate Park – Nagasaki station

Ney & Partners designed for the two large squares at the new Nagasaki station five canopies. The roof structures comprise of sandwich panels of 6 and 9 mm thicknesses, containing transverse stiffeners inside. The construction details are made systematically simple and adaptable so that the structural dimensions with the same design concept can be easily customized to various projects in the future. Street furniture such as guard fence, lighting poles, and signage are also designed. Three canopies with the same system and a large timber canopy of 10 m x 168 m for the west gate will also be built in 2022.
