Two projects of Ney & Partners in the 2025 Footbridge Awards, Chur (CH)

The winners of the 2025 Footbridge Awards were revealed during the triennial international footbridge conference last week in Chur in Switzerland. The prize is a celebration of ‘that curious blend of technological ingenuity, knowledge, aesthetic acumen and societal sensitivity that excellent footbridge designs so often demands.’
We are delighted to announce that an international jury chose the Salangaan bridge in Vilvoorde (BE) as winner in the category of moveable bridges. Their comments : ‘Synthesis of crisp, angular geometry and simple but expressive detailing. Overcomes the design constraints imposed by the site and the required hight clearance efficiently. And the Annie Vande Wiele bridge in Ghent was ‘highly commended’ in the category long span footbridges. Here the ‘stunning shallow arch proportions, the choice of the colours, and the well-integrated light’ were appreciated.
