Start works on site for the movable bridge, Vilvoorde (BE)

The new pedestrian bridge is a double bascule bridge with a central span of 62 m. The pistons are used as permanent backstays of this new “piston-stayed” bridge. The joint venture “Artes – De Meyer – Ney & Partners” is responsible for the design, building and maintenance. De Vlaamse Waterweg is the client. After making the foundation piles, the basement for hydraulics/electrics is made, to be finished in summer and ready to receive the steel structure later this year.
