Reuse of the Gare Maritime wins the Europa Nostra Award, Brussels (BE)

Ney & Partners were involved in this remarkable project as engineering consultants for the restauration of the 19th century structure as well as for the construction of the new inner volumes in CLT, a design by Neutelings-Riedijk Architecten.

The jury report was particularly positive about the adaptive reuse of the industrial heritage site, the high quality of the new architecture which was added, in both design and materials. This last ones are sustainable and have a low carbon footprint. The Europa Nostra Awards is a EU prize for cultural heritage and the Gare Maritime won in the category Conservation.
