Reep bridge temporarily mounted, Kortrijk (BE)

Last week Sunday, the Reep bridge was temporarily mounted. This bridge for cyclists and pedestrians is the 8th bridge to complete the Leiewerken in the city centre. This project is part of the Seine-Scheldt project, allowing ships with 3 layers of containers to sail to France. The new bridge is 60 m long and spans the Overleie to Buda Island. Two 7 m high towers are equipped with bicycle lifts and stairs for pedestrians. The bridge will be completed in spring 2022. The area around the bridge will be landscaped, a design by Omgeving.
