11.069 | School buildings ‘Georges Désir’ and ‘La Charmille’

The master plan of a new eco-neighbourhood consists the reconstruction of the ‘Georges Désir’ kindergarten and primary school (220 – 370 pupils), the special school ‘La Charmille’ (150 pupils) and de construction of a nursery as well as un underground parking. The master plan is also made by B612 Associés and has aims to make a better spacial organisation.

The schools are designed in a very compact way and organized around a central atrium: a light, flexible, space constituring the heart or the school life, place of circulation, meeting, leisure and learning. The sports hall is integrated in the semi-underground volume of the school. The project is passive and an eco-construction. The ‘Georges Désir’ building cantilivers about 7 m above the entrance port.
