Built in the sixties to link the Kircherg plateau to the city, the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge (“The Red Bridge”) constitutes a strong iconic symbol for the Luxembourg. The setting out of a tramway line implies to redraw the whole surface of the bridge, integrating a new lighting system and anti-suicide railing.
The project is composed by inclined and slender white painted steel fins, whose shape refers to the geometry of the bridge. This allows the pedestrian to have a close connection with the exceptional landscape.
