The structure is made from 100 year old reclaimed timber from Canada. The timbers are not planed, graded, etc. which required the use of old carpentry techniques to define the axes. They are also of various species. All joints are designed to be invisible. The geometry of the structure has been optimised to meet the significant seismic and wind loads of the seaside.
