Starting from historic construction research, a reconversion vision has been developed for the Osterrieth House. For the design of the glazed roofs, a slender structure with maximum visibility towards the existing skylights is the project’s starting point. Where rococo assumes a sumptuous styling, the steel structures consist of subtle roundings and curved lines as a reference to the stylistic elements of the Osterrieth House. It is also a clear reference to the works of Vasarely, where curved lines and patterns are used to suggest an expressive spatial effect.
