PROJECT
17.077 | Extension school ‘Fernand Blum’
-
The Fernand Blum Athenaeum is a secondary school located in Schaerbeek, a suburb of Brussels. The existing building dates from the beginning of the 20th century and is made of a concrete and masonry structure. The existing school is built around a central playground. On one side of the 3-sided school building, an extension is placed to provide space for 12 additional classrooms. The extension is made of wood, and due to the low weight of the structure, no interventions in the existing structure were necessary.
