PROJECT
09.034 | Bridge for Namur Station
-
The access to the bus station on the rooftop of the train station is not perceived as a ramp nor a bridge. This new infrastructure is read as a punctuated façade with a horizontal upper end. It forms a plinth along the current 200 meter long parking building. The mast of the cable stayed bridge, through its shape and its position, acquires the status of landmark and beacon for the new hub. This mast is floating and articulated at its base. The mast’s section is triangular and formed by thick metal sheets that are painted in light grey.
