PROJECT

11.037 | Bridge ‘De Lentloper’

The axis of the bridge is directed towards the lifted church of Nijmegen. The total length of 220 m is crossed in 5 spans of 30, 52, 56, 52 and 30 m. To make these crossings, the concrete bridge deck has been given an omega shape to both increase construction height and obtain a more optimal structure. In the middle of the bridge, the bridge deck gets two levels in order to provide space on and under the bridge. Four perforations are made in the inclined sides of the deck, providing passages underneath the deck. The passages also serve as tension cables for the bridge deck. The posttensioned concrete bridge deck is supported by 4 inclined concrete piles.
