17.049 | Bicycle and footbridge ‘Scheepswerfbrug’

The new bridge for cyclists and pedestrians between Hemiksem and Schelle is located over the ‘Benendenvliet’, a non-navigable waterway. Kempens Landschap, the client, requested an efficient and durable structure. That’s why we opted for an integral bridge.  It has a width of 3 m and a span of about 42 m. The arch bridge made of Corten steel has a railing also made of weathering steel with a wooden handrail.
