Ney & Partners wins the 2026 Arie Keppler Award for its bridges in Hoorn, (NL)

We are delighted to have won this North Holland award in the category “Living with water”. The jury assessed the reinforcement of the Markermeer dikes, the new bridges and the urban beach in Hoorn as a single project. Ney & Partners was responsible for the design of the three new bridges. Making the dikes safer has been combined with preserving the area’s heritage: the three bridges connect the new shore dike (Oeverdijk) with the historic Westfriese Omringdijk. They are firmly anchored in the shore dike but barely touch the Omringdijk, out of respect for its heritage value. The jury praised how benefits at every scale have been brought together in one clear gesture through bold design choices, calling the project a striking example of “next-level reframing”.
