NEY & Partners optimizes steel structure of a maintenance hangar, Melsbroek (BE)

The maintenance hangar for the military airport of the Ministery of Defence measures approximately 75 m by 185 m. The entire roof structure is supported by columns placed only on the perimeter of the shed. There are no intermediate pillars, a large open space is therefore created to perform the necessary manoeuvres and interventions with and around the aircraft. The steel structure consists of a series of truss beams with a span of 75 m. The construction of the shed is carried out by the company Democo while C-Metal supplies the steel structure.
