Next Sunday, opening of second bridge across Dessel-Schoten Canal, Schoten (BE)

Ney & Partners designed two bridges, which cross the automatic locks above the canal. They will provide local residents with a short pedestrian and cycle link from their neighbourhood to the two sides of the canal.

Both bridges have a span of 17 m and are made of ultra-high strength concrete. This has led to a significant reduction in the dimensions of the elements compared to a standard concrete version. Bicycle gutters and handrails are in stainless steel, which means that the bridges are 100% maintenance-free.
