Last week the Swansea footbridge was installed, Swansea (UK)

The London architecture practice ACME designed a major new leisure, retail and residential quarter in the centre of Swansea, Wales’ second city. To link the commercial area the North to the new Arena at the South, next to the Tawe basin, ACME integrated a new 50 m span footbridge above Oystermouth Road. Inspired by Ney & Partners’ original design of the Parkbridge of Antwerp, ACME invited Ney & Partners to join the design team as assisting architect as well as structural engineer for the dimensioning of the superstructure. The substructure and foundations are studied by the engineering Office Curtis from Bristol.
