Ney & Partners is an architectural and engineering office, specialised in the design of bridges, special structures and exceptional buildings. As part of the development of Ney & Partners' activities in Brussels, we are looking for a motivated Japanese speaking bridge engineer to strengthen our engineering team.

Japanese speaking bridge engineer (m/v/x) – Brussels

You are proficient in all or some of the technical aspects, as well as the calculations involved in various projects or project components. You always work under the supervision of a project engineer throughout the various phases of the project.
What are your main tasks?
- You will design and dimension (parts of) bridges, cycle bridges or special structures in accordance with the applicable standards.
- You will draw up calculation reports during the various project phases (preliminary design, detailed design, construction design) and monitor their quality. You will ensure that these reports are approved by the inspection body.
- You will participate in drawing up the specifications, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
- You will attend meetings with the various project stakeholders as well as site visits to monitor progress.
- You will work alongside the project engineer, architects and technical draughtsmen at the firm.
Who are you?
- You have (recently) completed your Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Work experience is an advantage but not a requirement.
- You have an excellent command of Japanese, both spoken and written.
- You are proficient in using the Finite Element software package: AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, SCIA Engineer or Sofistik; or equivalent.
- You have knowledge of structural calculations and the design of structures in accordance with the Eurocodes.
- You are eager to learn, have good interpersonal skills, are proactive and results-oriented.
- You are attracted by the innovative structures that our office develops.

Japanstalige brugingenieur (m/v/x) – Brussel
Je beheerst alle of een aantal technische aspecten evenals de berekeningen van verschillende projecten of projectonderdelen. Je werkt altijd onder de supervisie van een projectverantwoordelijke voor de verschillende fases van het project.
Wat zijn je belangrijkste taken?
- Je modelleert en dimensioneert (onderdelen van) bruggen, fietsbruggen of speciale structuren volgens de geldende normen.
- Je stelt rekennota’s tijdens de verschillende projectfases (VO, DO, UO) op en bewaakt de kwaliteit ervan. Je zorgt dat deze nota’s door het controlebureau goedgekeurd zijn.
- Je neemt deel aan het opmaak van het bestek, de meetstaten en ramingen.
- Je gaat naar zowel vergaderingen met de verschillende actoren van het project als naar werven en bewaakt de vooruitgang ervan.
- Je werkt samen met de projectingenieur, architecten en technisch tekenaars van het bureau.
Wie ben jij?
- Je hebt (recent) je Master burgerlijk ingenieur bouwkunde behaald. Werkervaring is een plus maar geen vereiste.
- Je kan je mondeling en schriftelijk zeer goed uitdrukken in het Japans.
- Je werkt vlot met het Eindige Elementen software package: AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, SCIA Engineer of Sofistik; of equivalent.
- Je hebt kennis van structurele berekeningen en van de dimensionering van structuren volgens de Eurocodes.
- Je bent leergierig, sociaal vaardig, proactief en resultaatgericht.
- Je voelt je aangetrokken tot de innovatieve constructies die ons bureau ontwikkelt.
