Installation main span bicycle and footbridge Menen, Menen (BE)

Last weekend the main span, measuring 62 m in length and weighing 92 t, of the footbridge was successfully installed. Over the next few months, the bridge sections from the left bank will arrive, the bridge will be welded together, and further finishing will be done. Together with the others spans (each 20 m), the steel structure has a total length of 262 m. Concrete abutments on both banks bring the total length of the S-shaped slender integral bridge to 357 m. This creates a comfortable slope for cyclists to reach the height of the bridge. The bridge is part of the Cycle Highway F371 Deinze-Wervik and should be ready in spring 2025.

This project is a collaboration with SBE and Omgeving for De Vlaamse Waterweg and the city of Menen and part of the project Seine-Schelde-Flanders.
