Construction of the ViA15 bridge gets underway, Lingewaard (NL)

After years of design and preparation, the ViA15 project is now moving into the construction phase. Work has begun on the foundations of the 2.6 km-long bridge spanning the Pannerdensch Canal. The bridge is one of the most iconic features of the new A15 between the ‘Ressen junction’ and the A12. The main bridge over the canal, the long approach bridges and the integrated cycle route together form a single continuous infrastructure through the river landscape.

Within the GelreGroen building consortium, Ney & Partners is responsible for the architectural design of the engineering structures across the entire ViA15 project area, as well as for the structural design of the approach bridges to the bridge and the flyover at the new ‘De Liemers’ junction. Commissioner of the Project ViA15 is Rijkswaterstaat.

Over the coming years, the design will gradually become a reality. According to the current schedule, the new A15 and the bridge over the Pannerdensch Canal are due to open to traffic at the end of 2031. Copyright images: Rijkswaterstaat.
